Lead Engineer, Product Engineering - Product Standardization

Overview

Lead Product Engineering for product standardization in the mining processing equipment portfolio, focusing on design consistency, reuse, and reduced engineering complexity.

What you'll do

• Lead product standardization initiatives to improve design consistency and component reuse.
• Develop, review, and approve 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain standard parts, design libraries, templates, and engineering guidelines.
• Perform detail engineering while ensuring compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry codes.
• Drive design optimization, value engineering, and continuous improvement for quality and cost competitiveness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical issues and deliver optimized engineering solutions.
• Lead designers and quality checkers to complete engineering deliverables on schedule.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–14 years of experience in product engineering and detail engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (part modeling, large assemblies, sheet metal, weldments, and manufacturing drawings).
• Solid understanding of detail engineering, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation including BOMs.
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems such as Enovia or SolidWorks PDM.
• Knowledge of value engineering principles for cost-effective and manufacturable designs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
