Lead Packaging Design Engineer

Overview

Lead end-to-end packaging engineering projects for finished products, raw materials, and shipments within GE HealthCare’s global packaging organization.

What you'll do

• Lead packaging engineering projects from opportunity identification and concept development through implementation.
• Develop packaging solutions for finished goods, raw materials, plant-to-plant, and plant-to-customer shipments.
• Support NPI transfers, product transfers, VCP/cost productivity, safety, sustainability, and packaging improvement initiatives.
• Create packaging concepts, engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D models using Creo and AutoCAD.
• Plan and execute packaging testing and validation using ISTA and ASTM-aligned methods and standards.
• Manage design changes, documentation, and engineering change management activities.

What you'll need

• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional packaging engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s with substantial packaging engineering and design experience.
• Hands-on experience leading packaging projects through design, testing, validation, and implementation.
• Hands-on proficiency with Creo for packaging or related 3D engineering design and modeling.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD for engineering drawings and packaging-related design.
• Experience with packaging testing and validation, including working knowledge of ISTA and ASTM standards.
