Lead Power Systems Engineer - Grid Integration and Stability, Consulting Services

Overview

Lead Power Systems Engineer in the Consulting Services Grid Integration and Stability (GIS) practice area, supporting analysis and simulation for grid integration and stability of power electronic and renewable generation systems.

What you'll do

• Perform technical analysis for power electronic and power systems control of renewable generation, BESS, large industrial drives, and FACTS.
• Support customers with power systems engineering including modeling, analysis, equipment design/specification, and failure mode analysis.
• Create, modify, and parameterize simulation models for GE Vernova inverter-based resources (IBR) products.
• Evaluate grid code compliance and study renewable project impacts in bulk power systems.
• Conduct power system transient studies and detailed equipment modeling using appropriate software tools.
• Prepare written reports/presentations communicating analysis results and solutions to internal and external customers.
• Contribute to technical content in regional forums and conferences.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering/electric power engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience performing transient analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP and steady state/dynamic analysis using tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSLF and DSATools (PSAT, TSAT, SSAT).
• 3 years industry experience using common programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN.
• Strong background in power system analysis.
• Solid understanding of inverter-based resources (control system) design and application considerations.
• Experience developing user-defined models in simulation tools.
