Overview
Lead Shopify Engineer role supporting a fast-paced account by owning key technical decisions and mentoring developers while delivering production-ready Shopify front-end experiences.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain production-ready Shopify front-end code, including reusable components and theme areas.
- Lead front-end development workstreams in an Agile environment and support planning, estimation, and stand-ups.
- Collaborate with design and technical teams to understand requirements and propose solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration with marketing tools, platform APIs, and Shopify Apps.
- Drive quality through code reviews, unit testing, accessibility improvements, and performance optimization.
- Own end-to-end development from concept to delivery, including ongoing maintenance, scaling, and support.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Deep proficiency in Shopify front-end development using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience developing reusable UI components and adhering to component-based architectural standards.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and participation in planning/estimation/stand-ups.
- Proven ability to lead front-end workstreams, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
- Experience integrating marketing tools, platform APIs, and Shopify Apps.
- Commitment to code quality via code reviews and unit testing.
- Practical experience optimizing web performance and applying WCAG accessibility standards.
