Lead Software Engineer - AEM Assets

Overview

Lead the design, development, and integration of Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets to support enterprise-scale content operations across global digital platforms.

What you'll do

• Lead design and development of AEM Assets (DAM) solutions, including asset workflows, metadata, and integrations.
• Build scalable solutions for asset ingestion, processing, and distribution.
• Build scalable solutions for metadata and taxonomy-driven asset management.
• Build scalable solutions for content reuse and lifecycle management.
• Define and implement DAM architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Develop and optimize workflow-driven asset pipelines from upload through enrichment, approval, and publishing.
• Lead integrations across AEM Sites for content consumption.
• Lead integrations across Workfront for workflow orchestration.
• Lead integrations across PIM and downstream digital platforms.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of DAM services.
• Drive CI/CD implementation and enforce engineering quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, QA, and Architects for end-to-end delivery.
• Mentor engineers and guide development teams on DAM best practices.
• Build and enhance the enterprise DAM platform on AEM Assets.
• Enable scalable asset workflows, metadata governance, and automation.
• Improve asset discoverability, reuse, and lifecycle management.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM Assets / DAM).
• Strong expertise in Java, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with metadata schema design and taxonomy governance specific to DAM.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, including Maven and Azure DevOps.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale DAM or CMS platforms.
• Strong technical leadership and architecture design.
• Expertise in DAM workflows, metadata, and governance.
• Problem-solving and system design at scale.
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
• Knowledge of Workfront or similar workflow tools.
• Experience with AI-driven tagging, metadata enrichment, or asset automation.
• Familiarity with headless CMS, APIs, or GraphQL.
