Lead Software Engineer - C# .net

Overview

Lead backend software engineering for the Transactions product area, contributing to business-critical functionality used in clients' daily investment operations. Work with APL and C#/.NET across backend development, component design, performance, reliability, maintainability and platform modernization.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end design, implement, test and maintain backend functionality using APL and, where relevant, C#/.NET.
• Drive technical discussions and decision-making aligned with long-term business goals.
• Architect scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
• Contribute to code quality, performance and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers through code reviews, technical planning and agile practices.
• Ensure system reliability through unit testing, integration testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver client-relevant functionality.
• Investigate technical issues, performance bottlenecks and bugs and help design sustainable solutions.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to technical discussions within the team.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET technologies.
• Expert knowledge of C#, .NET Core/Framework and backend development.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design, clean code, APIs and integration patterns.
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
• Ability to work with complex business logic and collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Interest in learning APL.
• Prior APL experience is not required.

Nice to have

• Experience from fintech, financial services or another regulated industry.
• Exposure to functional, array-oriented or vector-based programming languages.
• Experience with Azure services or cloud-based development.
• Experience mentoring other engineers or taking ownership of a component.
• Experience with Azure or cloud-based development is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

• Hybrid model: employees are asked to work from the office two days each week while working remotely on other days.
