Lead Software Engineer – Real-Time Events

Overview

Lead Software Engineer role for Zeta Global’s Real-Time Events (RTE) team, a hands-on IC position focused on the real-time events pipeline.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and launch event-pipeline features in production.
• Own the architecture for the pipeline parts you lead.
• Evaluate and bring in technologies that improve cost, latency, or operations.
• Define stable contracts with downstream consumers and lead key pipeline projects.
• Instrument services, improve alerting, and address on-call gaps.
• Drive post-incident fixes, including root cause, code, runbooks, and dashboards.

What you'll need

• 8–10 years of software engineering experience, including lead/staff-level work on event/streaming/data-infrastructure systems.
• Production experience with event streaming (Kafka or equivalent), and Python services/APIs (e.g., FastAPI).
• Pipeline processing experience with Spark/EMR or equivalent, as needed.
• AWS expertise including S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle through production monitoring and on-call.
• Fluency in Python or substantial Scala and Java experience.
