Lead Structural Steel Engineer

Overview

Lead Structural Steel Engineer role within the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team, supporting as project lead engineer to produce project-specific engineering documents and drawings for steel support structures for GIS equipment.

What you'll do

• Develop project-specific engineering documents and drawings for customer submission.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Prepare design calculations for steel support structures for GIS above 66kV using listed tools.
• Prepare project-specific civil plans including GIS loading for customer building elements.
• Conduct self-review and peer review of design documents.
• Ensure timely design delivery with required quality and coordinate with team members.
• Maintain and update project documentation as per quality process.

What you'll need

• 8–10 years of experience with B.E/M.E. in Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Hands-on structural engineering experience using STAAD. Pro, Idea-static, Ansys and Hilti Profits.
• Hands-on modeling experience with Tekla, Navisworks and other modelling software.
• Mandatory familiarity with applicable structural modelling and detailing codes/standards (American, European, Canadian etc.).
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD and MS Office.
• Mandatory knowledge of HSE standards like OSHA and DIN; knowledge of galvanization and painting procedures.
