Overview
Lead Substation Physical Engineer in Pune, supporting conceptual and detailed HV/MV substation physical/electrical design, studies, quality control, and proposal work.
What you'll do
- Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV substation physical/electrical design for utilities.
- Conduct advanced engineering studies and calculations for substation designs.
- Carry out quality control reviews for medium to large substation physical design projects.
- Create and review bill of materials for substation physical projects.
- Develop and review proposals and scopes of work for substation physical projects.
- Lead bids and provide technical presentations and client interaction, including site visits.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
What you'll need
- 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
- Leadership experience executing substation projects.
- Ability to interact with internal teams and clients to meet project objectives.
- Ability to perform quality control checks on substation design projects.
- Ability to read and design substation physical drawings (e.g., one-line, three-line, plan-section, grounding).
- Ability to read and design protection and control drawings (e.g., AC/DC schematic, wiring design).
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with QA/QC.
- Working knowledge of protection and control design and BUS calculations.
- Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS and SDS AutoCAD Electrical software.
