Overview
Legal Program Manager focused on contracts and governance within Anthropic’s Commercial Legal team, central to commercial compliance controls and workflows.
What you'll do
- Improve the sell-side commercial contracting lifecycle for agreements such as SaaS/API subscriptions, enterprise licenses, partnerships, statements of work, and order forms.
- Ensure commercial contracts align with revenue recognition requirements under ASC 606, including performance obligations and variable consideration.
- Create and maintain contract management workflows, templates, approval matrices, and governance playbooks.
- Operate contract governance controls, including contract review procedures, delegation of authority frameworks, and exception tracking.
- Support commercial contract disclosure processes feeding SEC reporting and audit requirements.
- Design and enforce contract execution standards to support SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Use AI/LLM tooling to scale contracting throughput and surface governance exceptions.
What you'll need
- 8–10+ years of experience in legal program management, legal operations, contracts management, or commercial legal support.
- Deep knowledge of sell-side commercial contracting processes for SaaS/subscriptions and enterprise licensing agreements.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze commercial contracts, including risk allocation and compliance obligations.
- Working familiarity with revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and how deal structure impacts revenue treatment.
- Experience building or significantly improving contracting workflows, templates, approvals, or contract lifecycle systems.
- Strong cross-functional partnering skills with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and other teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for non-legal stakeholders.
