Logistics Coordinator

Overview

Coordinate the transportation and customs clearance of import and export shipments at Valmet, delivering them to the correct location within the required timeframe.

What you'll do

• Transport import and export shipments to the correct location within the required timeframe.
• Handle customs clearance of shipments in accordance with country-specific customs laws and regulations.
• Book transport, schedule deliveries, manage carrier relationships and oversee freight forwarders.
• Optimize transportation mode to ensure timely schedules and cost-competitive solutions.
• Manage customs declarations in compliance with import/export laws.
• Prepare and verify required documentation such as invoices, certificates of origin, transport documents and customs forms.
• Identify and mitigate risks such as delays, damage or non-compliance, and manage insurance for shipments.

What you'll need

• Logistics or commercial education or a related field.
• Experience from transport booking services.
• Knowledge of customs legislation (e.g., inward processing, Intrastat statistics).
• Familiarity with international delivery terms (INCOTERMS).
• Proficiency in IT systems.
• English is essential.

Nice to have

• Letter of Credit knowledge.
• Languages other than English.
• Solution-oriented mindset and can-do attitude.
• Understanding of dangerous goods regulations.
• Experience from ATA-carnet handling for temporary exports.
• 5-7 years of experience in the relevant field.
• Collaboration and communication skills, stress management, and quick, independent decision-making ability.
• Continuous training and monitoring of international developments (changing regulations, economic and political conditions, strikes, accidents, natural disasters, holidays), and geographical awareness.
