Overview
Mainframe Developer & support specialist responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications and providing support and guidance to others.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Analyze business requirements for life insurance and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and QA teams for project delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the life insurance domain.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mainframe development focused on COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Proven experience in the life insurance domain, including understanding of products, processes, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to have
- Experience with IMS, VSAM, and REXX.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and version control systems such as Git.
