Manager, Engineering

Overview

Lead a team of 6 to 12 software engineers as an Engineering Manager, driving high-quality software delivery in a regulated environment while coaching and growing the team.

What you'll do

• Assess the needs of agile teams and hire and onboard new team members as required within predefined budgets.
• Motivate the team to deliver their best work in a healthy, sustainable environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and coach and mentor engineers to support their growth and development.
• Drive the delivery of high-quality software in a regulated environment according to the teams' quarterly plans, protecting teams from disruption and prioritizing critical issues.
• Support quarterly planning by facilitating discussions between Engineering, Product and Business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product and Customer Operations to ensure successful delivery of software products.
• Build a deep understanding of Velsera's products from a business, customer and product perspective.
• Report on development, quality, operations and system performance to management using predefined metrics.
• Ensure agile software development methodologies are implemented and processes are efficient and effective, and suggest cross-team process improvements when applicable.

What you'll need

• More than 5 years in the field of software engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in the software development industry with a strong technical background in software engineering.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of software engineers.
• Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with both technical and non-technical partners.
• A problem-solver attitude as a servant leader for agile engineering teams, providing solutions to unblock both people and processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle management processes.
• Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, with a track record of actively driving processes to deliver quality outcomes.
• Good presentation, oral and written communication skills.

• Experience developing software in a regulated environment.
