Manager I, Engineering - APM Serverless

Overview

Engineering Manager for Datadog’s APM Serverless, defining and delivering the end-to-end serverless APM experience across clouds and managed services.

What you'll do

• Lead a polyglot team of 8-9 engineers to deliver serverless APM capabilities.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ship consistent, scalable, intuitive instrumentation.
• Own serverless APM coverage across Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP, and managed services.
• Partner with the product manager on strategy and execution for AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Collaborate on troubleshooting, including auto-instrumentation and frictionless customer journeys.
• Expand coverage of cloud-managed services across providers for distributed tracing and monitoring.

What you'll need

• Track record of shipping products as an experienced Engineering Manager.
• Experience as an engineering manager leading teams.
• Experience in two or more languages and comfort building cross-runtime systems.
• Passion for libraries and OSS software development.
• Care about developer experience, clean APIs, and reliable systems.
• Ability to translate product narratives into technical implementation details.
• Comfort managing partners and stakeholders.
