Manager, Software Engineering - AI

Overview

Lead the Artificial Intelligence (AI) focused team as a Technical Owner and contribute directly to software development for at least 50% of your time. The role supports the AI Assistant and the application of AI in other areas of the system.

What you'll do

• Manage a team of 3 - 6 individuals with mixed roles including software engineers and quality assurance.
• Ensure your team is creating performant, testable, and well-thought-out software for the production environment.
• Guide the team as you use your experience and feedback to iterate through designing scalable solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI design, and QA, to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers to uphold high coding standards.
• Implement and maintain robust testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of the content authoring tool.
• Utilize automated testing frameworks where appropriate.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Propose and implement improvements to the development process, tools, and practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the content authoring tool, including design specifications, API documentation, and user guides.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in software development.
• Commercial experience with Large Language Modules (LLMs).
• Full-stack development using C# and JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• In-depth understanding of AI technology, including LLMs.
• Understanding of SQL and SQL Server.
• Alternative datastores/technologies such as OpenSearch, Redis, and Memcached.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Demonstrated ability to manage software engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior team members.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.

Nice to have

• Postgres and CosmosDB are preferable.

• Salary range: ₹50,00,000 to ₹60,00,000 plus 15% bonus.
