Overview
The Manufacturing & BIQ Engineer coordinates and optimizes manufacturing operations, supports plant engineers, and drives continuous improvement while ensuring production targets are met for drawing and supporting file delivery.
What you'll do
- Evaluate and improve existing fabrication processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Develop new manufacturing processes, detailed work instructions, and standard operating procedures based on engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and quality standards.
- Apply advanced manufacturing techniques and lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct time studies and cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Ensure all project deliverables comply with BIQ requirements and quality standards.
- Manage fabrication processes for pressure vessels, piping systems, and other large-scale structures.
- Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
- Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
- Participate in design reviews, fabrication reviews, and quality governance meetings.
- Support the preparation of cost estimates and technical reports.
What you'll need
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering institute.
- Analytical thinking skills, including determining root causes, creating alternative solutions, analyzing complex problems, and evaluating costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success.
- Effective communication skills, including delivering feedback, listening to feedback, making oral presentations, writing reports, and interpreting verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities and prioritize time effectively.
- Technical excellence, including applying technical and project standards, resolving technical issues, and helping others solve technical or procedural problems.
- Computer-aided design and engineering skills, including producing, analyzing, simulating, and testing product design drafts.
- Product design and manufacturing skills, including converting customer and market requirements into product design.
- Product design and development skills, including designing, building, and developing a product, technology, or service from concept through production.
- Well versed with oil and gas EPC projects, with exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
