Mechanical Engineer- Infrastructure (Water/ Wastewater)

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer for water/wastewater infrastructure, focused on pumping station design and hydraulic/surge-related work.

What you'll do

• Design pumping stations for sewage, storm water, irrigation, potable water, and firefighting applications.
• Handle pipework and valve sizing, and support pump selection with head calculations.
• Perform wet well sizing and valve/flow meter chamber design.
• Lay out piping and mechanical equipment for pumping station facilities and utilities.
• Carry out HVAC sizing, lifting equipment selection, and filter selection.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and surge analysis using relevant engineering tools.

What you'll need

• 3-9 years of experience in the design of pumping stations for water and wastewater systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Bentley WaterGEMS/Hammer for hydraulic modeling.
• Knowledge of hydraulic standards such as ANSI/HI.
• Experience with pumping station design & sizing calculations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a consulting firm.
• Working knowledge of REVIT, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER.
• BIM experience is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with district cooling plants (DCP) and surge analysis.
• Knowledge of water/sewage treatment works.
• Preferably Middle East/Gulf experience.
