Mechanical Engineer- Infrastructure (Water/ Wastewater)

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer for infrastructure pumping station projects across water, wastewater, irrigation, firefighting, and related facilities.

What you'll do

• Carry out design of pumping stations and related facilities/utilities.
• Size pipes and valves and select pumps using head calculations.
• Perform wet well sizing and design valve/flow meter chamber components.
• Handle hydraulic modeling and surge analysis for pumping systems.
• Support HVAC sizing and lifting equipment and filter selection.
• Arrange piping and mechanical equipment layout using BIM workflows.

What you'll need

• 3–10 years of experience in pumping station design (water irrigation, firefighting, wastewater).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience with Bentley WaterGEMS/Hammer for hydraulic modeling and surge analysis.
• Knowledge of mechanical/piping design activities including pump selection and pipe sizing.
• Familiarity with hydraulic institution ANSI/HI standards.
• BIM experience is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a consulting firm.
• Working knowledge of relevant software packages like REVIT, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Navisworks for clash resolution (basic knowledge mentioned).
• Experience with District Cooling Plants (DCP) for surge analysis (add on).
• Knowledge in water/sewage treatment works.
• Middle East/Gulf experience.
• Experience with international applicable standards for relevant authorities (examples listed).
• Knowledge of surge analysis (plus).
• Knowledge of District Cooling Plants (DCP) (plus).
• Expertise in hydraulic institution HI, AWWA, and NFPA-related industry regulations (international standards referenced).
