Mechanical Engineering Technical Leader focused on thermal engineering, including electronics cooling, liquid cooling, coldplates, and thermal validation.

What you'll do

• Lead small-scale mechanical engineering projects (one to two features) and manage scope, schedule, and budgets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support assembly, fabrication, and manufacturing using relevant manufacturing process knowledge.
• Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and perform stack-up tolerance analyses for quality in high-volume production.
• Assist in drafting and executing test plans, mechanical design testing, failure analysis, reliability, and environmental verification plans.
• Perform thermal simulation work and simple mechanical simulations such as FEA with supervision.
• Review and compile bills of materials (BoM) across teams and products.
• Optimize thermal solutions with thermal engineers prior to prototyping and ensure feasibility/prototyping guidelines are met.

What you'll need

• Minimum experience: Bachelors + 10-14 years, or Masters + 8-10 years, or PhD + 6-8 years.
• Hands-on thermal design and validation experience for electro-mechanical equipment deployed in controlled (central office) and uncontrolled (outdoor) environments.
• Expertise defining thermal boundaries and optimized cooling solutions for performance with minimal cooling power budget.
• Expertise in designing and verifying heatsink technologies including heat pipes, chill/cold plates, and vapor chambers (2D/3D) with air/liquid cooling media.
• Strong validation background to plan comprehensive test plans with minimal iterations.
• Strong command of simulation tools and modelling of complex thermal environments.
