Modeling Technical Lead Engineer

Overview

Modeling Technical Lead Engineer in Lam Research’s Lam India Global Hardware Team (LIGHT), based in Bangalore. You will build and simulate atomistic or phenomenological models to support semiconductor product and process development.

What you'll do

• Conceptualize and build atomistic or phenomenological models for transport of multispecies gas and/or liquid media in confined channels.
• Implement chemical reaction kinetics with transport to simulate etch, dep or clean processes.
• Collaborate with other modeling engineers to transfer boundary conditions between continuum and atomistic models.
• Translate engineering problem statements into modeling scope, execute work, and deliver results.
• Report outcomes of modeling studies to Product Development teams.
• Establish new modeling protocols and publish them as Best Known Methods.
• Simulate complex multi-physics problems to aid product or process development.

What you'll need

• Strong expertise in molecular modeling, including molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo approaches.
• Strong hold on programming languages (e.g., Python) for post-processing large data sets.
• Knowledge of developing or implementing ML-based forcefields for new interatomic interactions and chemistries (reactive force fields).
• Experience with AI/ML approaches to accelerate MD simulations for larger length and time scales.
• Engineering judgment and creativity for accuracy vs. time-to-delivery trade-offs.
• Good communication and documentation skills for project delivery with global teams.
• Proficiency with software such as LAMMPS, Quantum Espresso, Jaguar, Gaussian, and Amber.

• Work mode: hybrid roles are described as On-site Flex and Virtual Flex, with on-site days per week specified in the posting.
• Collaboration: work closely with Local and Global Product Groups and engineering teams in the US, Europe and Asia.
