Overview
Power Electronics Design Engineer responsible for electronic design of inverters and power electronic components for battery electric vehicles.
What you'll do
- Develop electronic schematics and bills of materials (BOMs) for next-generation power electronic components.
- Review and approve electrical design requirements for power electronic components.
- Optimize circuit designs and implement innovative circuit concepts.
- Conduct comparative evaluations of different design concepts and electrical components.
- Perform electrical simulations for power electronic designs and collaborate with simulation engineers.
- Lead PCB layout activities with ECAD engineers and organize schematic/layout reviews.
- Support prototype builds and perform functional hardware bench testing and design verification.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering in the power electronics industry.
- Deep knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout processes, and industry-standard PCB design tools.
- Experience with power semiconductors (SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs), gate-driver circuits, isolated power supplies, and protection functions.
- Proven experience developing high-voltage inverter systems, including power stage design and DC-link architecture.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys, and PSpice/LTspice.
- Fluency in both English and German.
