Principal Engineer (Hybrid)

Overview

Principal Engineer for safety-critical embedded software in avionics, working on design, development, validation, and technical leadership across the full SDLC.

What you'll do

• Develop and validate safety-critical embedded software applications.
• Lead software development across the complete SDLC.
• Translate customer and system requirements into software requirements.
• Define software architecture, design approaches, and verification strategies.
• Develop and review software test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace certification standards and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with systems, verification & validation, certification, and program management.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or related STEM.
• 8+ years of knowledge of aerospace software certification standards including DO-178 and ARP4754A.
• 6+ years of understanding of avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429, AFDX, ARINC 653, and ARINC 615A.
• 8+ years of expertise in software lifecycle processes, requirements engineering, and verification methodologies.
• 7+ years of experience deriving software requirements from customer and system-level requirements.
• 8+ years of experience defining software verification and validation strategies.
