Principal Engineer - Software (Hybrid)

Overview

Principal Engineer - Software focused on designing, developing, integrating, verifying, and supporting certification of next-generation embedded avionics software for safety-critical surveillance systems.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for safety-critical surveillance systems.
• Develop tools and automation to improve software development and verification efficiency.
• Develop and verify DO-178C DAL B compliant software.
• Execute unit, integration, and system-level testing for embedded applications.
• Collaborate to translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Support certification activities, customer reviews, and regulatory audits.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot build/integration/deployment issues.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• 8+ years programming in C++ and Python.
• 6+ years developing software on Wind River VxWorks or similar real-time operating systems.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC (requirements through verification/validation).
• 7+ years hardware/software integration and board-level debugging.
• Experience with Git, Visual Studio, VxWorks, and RapiTest.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
