Job description

Overview

Serve as the discipline lead engineer for instrumentation proposals and projects, delivering safe, compliant, reliable, efficient and practical engineering design and execution within contractual, quality, schedule and overall cost requirements.

What you'll do

  • Prepare design bases, specifications, data sheets and sizing for instruments including control valves, PSVs, flowmeters and analyzers.
  • Perform interdisciplinary checks.
  • Review vendor offers and select technically qualified vendors for given applications.
  • Prepare Technical Bid Analyses.
  • Work on FEED projects and resolve technical queries while obtaining necessary technical approvals.
  • Perform engineering and design prudently to optimize project execution cost.
  • Work with vendors on Kick Off Meetings after purchase order award and design review meetings to discuss technical queries and solutions.
  • Track vendor activities and progress.
  • Review vendor deliverables to ensure technical compliance.
  • Provide necessary inputs to other disciplines.
  • Attend FAT and SAT and witness vendor compliance with project requirements.
  • Support proposal efforts for various project bids.
  • Maintain project contract review, KPI, change tracking, schedule tracking, productivity and dashboard reporting, value engineering and lessons learned.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 10 to 14 years of overall industry experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with various ASTM, IS and IEC codes and standards, as well as various FEED and PMC standards.
  • Evidence of Value Engineering efforts in executed projects.
  • Conversant with SPI (InTools) is a must.
  • Ability to work on all instruments for material requisition, technical bid evaluation and vendor deliverable review.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, accuracy, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish deadlines for the team, manage priorities and effectively achieve goals in a fast-paced environment is critical.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • Ability to foster communication within diverse cultural environments.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and respond appropriately.

Nice to have

  • Conversance with 3D model review software such as SPR is desirable.
  • Added advantage of analyzer and control system experience.
  • Commissioning and field execution experience is an added advantage.
