Secondary Engineer

Overview

Secondary Engineer responsible for protection and control engineering design for substations and related equipment. The role covers design deliverables, vendor coordination, technical evaluations, and customer approvals for small and larger projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare protection single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, sections, bills of materials, RFQs, and design intent documents.
• Develop signal lists, trip matrices, logic and interlock descriptions, cable schedules, and wiring or termination diagrams.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents, offers, and control and relay panel designs.
• Perform auxiliary power system design, voltage-drop calculations, cable sizing, and circuit-breaker selectivity studies.
• Coordinate with engineering, sourcing, factory, primary equipment, and control and protection teams.
• Support FAT and SAT activities, site visits, customer approvals, and as-built documentation.
• Monitor design delivery, project schedule impacts, technical risks, and engineering effort estimates.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 11–15 years of experience.
• Proficiency in required CAD design tools and E3.
• Knowledge of international standards such as IEEE and IEC.
• Knowledge of substation tendering and technical and commercial project engineering.
• Knowledge of AIS and GIS secondary designs and interfaces with SCADA, RTU, and teleprotection.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Panel engineering expertise, including layouts, circuit diagrams, wiring tables, and terminal tables.
• Relay configuration experience.
