Principal Salesforce Developer and Release Manager

Overview

Hands-on Principal Salesforce Developer and Release Manager responsible for designing/building production Salesforce solutions and owning the release process end to end.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain production Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and integrations.
• Own complex features from architecture through deployment, including documentation and high Apex test coverage.
• Evaluate new Salesforce platform features at seasonal releases and drive adoption where relevant.
• Own the release calendar and coordinate what ships across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.
• Coordinate deployments using Gearset pipelines and gate promotion based on sign-off documented in Jira.
• Run go/no-go calls, maintain rollback plans, and manage incident response if releases fail.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through reviews, pairing, and coaching.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including at least 3 years at principal or staff level.
• Deep knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and Salesforce declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, validation rules).
• Expert Gearset knowledge including pipeline setup, environment comparisons, and CI job configuration.
• Strong GitHub experience with branching models, PR workflows, branch protection, and merge conflict resolution.
• Jira administration/usage as a release gate for sign-off workflows and linking Jira to Gearset deployments and GitHub PRs.
• Solid understanding of Salesforce CLI and SFDX for scripted deployments and sandbox management.
• Mentoring experience raising team-wide code quality.
