Principal Scientist - R&D

Overview

Principal Scientist role in R&D at Piramal Pharma Solutions, a CDMO, leading complex synthetic route development, team mentoring and client-facing project management.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and implementation of complex multi-step synthetic routes, including development of innovative methodologies for challenging organic transformations.
• Independently address and resolve complex challenges in synthetic chemistry and assay development using critical thinking and advanced technical and analytical skills.
• Propose and implement innovative research strategies, contributing to scientific publications, patents and conference presentations.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of experimental procedures and results, and prepare detailed reports for knowledge sharing and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvements in the lab, leading initiatives that enhance research productivity.
• Adhere to safety regulations, quality assurance and environmental standards, leading efforts to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
• Mentor and train team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring the team meets productivity targets and quality standards.
• Work effectively with other departments (such as ADL, QA, EHS, SCM) to align research efforts with organizational goals.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing communications, providing technical expertise and ensuring delivery of project milestones and quality results.
• Oversee and coordinate multiple research projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What you'll need

• PhD or Post Doc in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry.
• 8-12 years of industrial experience in CRO set-up.
