Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer for building PingOne Privilege, a cloud-native Zero Trust privileged access platform, and AI security capabilities that protect enterprise adoption of agentic AI.

What you'll do

• Design and ship core Go services for PingOne Privilege including zero trust access features.
• Build AI security capabilities including MCP gateways, identity/governance for AI agents, and real-time guardrails.
• Develop highly available multi-region distributed services on Kubernetes with durable workflow orchestration.
• Implement integrations with identity protocols such as OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and certificate-based authentication.
• Build secure proxy and gateway layers for SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, databases, and web applications.
• Drive technical quality via code reviews and design reviews, and mentor engineers through close collaboration.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• 4+ years at a Principal or Staff level building large-scale security or identity products as an individual contributor shipping production code daily.
• Deep working knowledge of IAM/PAM including privileged access, secrets/key management, session brokering, and least-privilege/Zero Trust architectures.
• Hands-on depth in OAuth2/OIDC and PKI.
• Expert proficiency in Go (or willingness to work in Go and a strong systems-language background).
• Cloud native experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and Kubernetes, plus distributed data stores such as Cassandra or similar NoSQL.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
