Principal Software Engineer for Developer Acceleration in release engineering, focused on shaping HubSpot’s build/test/deploy platform at scale and integrating agentic AI into release workflows.

What you'll do

• Own the future of HubSpot’s release engineering platform.
• Shape technical direction for build, test, and deploy system design.
• Drive architectural decisions across pipeline design, test infrastructure, and deployment orchestration.
• Design and implement AI-powered QA agents that run on every deploy.
• Turn ambiguous infrastructure issues into scalable systems and clear technical direction.
• Help drive progress toward 500+ deploys per minute by removing pipeline bottlenecks.
• Lead end-to-end complex initiatives while writing production code.

What you'll need

• Deep experience building and evolving large-scale distributed systems, especially in CI/CD, build infrastructure, release engineering, or foundational backend platforms.
• Strong architectural instincts with a bias toward simplicity and long-term leverage.
• Experience operating at hyperscaler or platform-provider scale.
• A track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-team technical initiatives with org- or company-level impact.
• Hands-on mindset: lead by building, debugging, reviewing, and shipping.
• Ability to move into unfamiliar technical territory quickly and form grounded technical opinions.

• Compensation: Annual cash compensation range of $266,200–$425,900 USD.
