Overview
Principal Software Engineer for HubSpot’s Revenue Hub, building and shaping the technical future of the Revenue Hub platform.
What you'll do
- Build a simple, consistent, extensible platform for CPQ, Billing, and Payments.
- Shape the technical roadmap across CPQ, Billing, and Payments using strong patterns.
- Define and evolve core domain models for pricing, products, contracts, invoices, and payments.
- Design API and platform contracts that let developers, partners, and AI agents extend Revenue Hub safely.
- Create frameworks to extend the platform without adding complexity.
- Write code, review designs, debug systems, and take prototypes to production at scale.
- Lead architectural direction for financial correctness, event-driven consistency, and safe AI agent interactions.
What you'll need
- Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems with strict correctness requirements.
- Strong instincts for API and platform design.
- Background working with complex state machines, financial flows, or high-integrity data models.
- Familiarity with agentic systems and safe action on structured data.
- Ability to work horizontally across many teams to get alignment on platform patterns.
- Habit of turning ambiguity into clear plans and working software while staying hands-on.

- Annual cash compensation range: $266,200 to $425,900 USD.
- In-person onboarding required for Engineering team candidates at a regional HubSpot office.
