Job description
Overview
Principle Software Engineer (Backend) role in India (Bangalore) focused on hands-on backend leadership and people management.
What you'll do
- Oversee professional development, performance management, and career progression of direct reports.
- Define and align the team’s technical roadmap and execution strategy for timely delivery.
- Lead hiring, including interviewing and onboarding, to scale the engineering team.
- Build and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java Spring and React.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit requirements and guide expert technical execution.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and mentor junior developers.
What you'll need
- Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience in software development.
- Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least 10 members.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and extensive expertise with the Spring Framework.
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Substantial experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
