Overview
Professional Services Solution Consultant acting as a trusted advisor and hands-on solution partner within Professional Services, combining solution consulting, business and product analysis, technical understanding, stakeholder management, project management and delivery thinking.
What you'll do
- Lead structured discovery with agency, client and internal stakeholders to understand objectives, users, workflows, data, constraints and expected outcomes.
- Analyse current-state processes, usage and needs, separating problems to solve from requested features.
- Translate needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, solution specifications and, where required, scope inputs for statements of work.
- Identify dependencies, assumptions, risks and gaps early, and ensure the right Product, Engineering, Enterprise Solutions or Professional Services owners are engaged.
- Map business needs to proven, ready-to-deploy WPP Open capabilities and recommend an appropriate foundation or configured solution.
- Design and present solution options that explain value, trade-offs, dependencies and delivery implications to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create and deliver demonstrations showing how selected WPP Open capabilities address the defined use case.
- Support business-case and value-realisation thinking by linking the proposed solution to measurable client or operational outcomes.
- Build and maintain knowledge of WPP Open architecture, capabilities, agents, configuration options, data and integration touchpoints.
- Stay current on platform releases and distinguish proven, scalable capabilities from functionality still in development or testing.
- Partner with Project Managers, Product Analysts, Deployment Specialists, Configuration Admins and implementation teams from scope through go-live and handover.
- Ensure solution intent, requirements and acceptance criteria remain traceable through configuration, testing and delivery.
- Support UAT, solution validation and issue resolution, escalating material scope, quality or dependency risks.
- Contribute to clear handovers into Enablement, Training or Support.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans defining milestones, dependencies, ownership, decision points and critical path activities.
- Coordinate day-to-day project activity, track actions, surface blockers early and keep progress visible to delivery and leadership audiences.
- Maintain RAID management with proactive identification of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, with mitigation plans and escalation routes.
- Support governance routines such as status reporting, checkpoint reviews, decision logs and delivery readiness assessments.
- Make delivery trade-offs explicit between speed, scope and quality, and assess change impact before commitments are made.
- Confirm acceptance criteria, document outcomes, capture lessons learned and agree handover routes before closing an engagement.
- Convert engagement lessons into reusable solution patterns, templates, playbooks and configuration standards.
- Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering on recurring client needs, friction, feature gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Help standardise intake and scoping so requests arrive with the information needed to route and estimate work accurately.
- Use delivery and usage evidence to improve solution quality, reduce avoidable effort and accelerate time to value.
- Act as a credible bridge between business, product and technology stakeholders, maintaining client-team ownership of client relationships.
