Overview
Project Engineer responsible for engineering and service activities for automation systems and field instruments in the Energy Industry, including DCS/PLC programming, testing, installation and commissioning.
What you'll do
- Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments in projects.
- Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for service engineering projects and programs.
- Identify internal or external customer requirements, analyze and document as-is processes and process interfaces, discover process gaps, and design to-be integration in collaboration with business resources.
- Create work plans and cost estimates in the area of responsibility and ensure quality deliverables are completed on time and within the targeted cost.
- Complete risk and opportunity assessments and ensure implementation of resulting actions in the area of responsibility.
- Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with business and other IT teams to deliver solutions within the timeline.
- Assist with customer and technical issues and interact with official contracts.
- Perform low to medium complex service tasks including programming, testing, installation and commissioning of automation systems (DCS/PLC) for the Energy Industry.
- Perform engineering of automation systems and field instruments.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electronics & Communications.
- 4-6 years' experience in Process Automation, especially in Oil & Gas, Refineries or Petrochemicals.
- Experience with DCS retrofits, upgrades, service and commissioning.
- Knowledge of system installation, integration of servers and client computers in a virtual environment, and Windows Administration.
- Experience with virtualization concepts, ESXi setup, RAID configuration and VMware configuration.
- Working knowledge of managed switches, routers and firewalls.
- Knowledge of designing system and network hardening and developing cybersecurity designs.
- Experience configuring McAfee ePO and WSUS.
- Working knowledge of domain configuration and Active Directory configuration for larger systems, including defining group policies.
