Job description

Overview

The Project Engineer leads end-to-end project planning and controls from baseline development through monitoring and close-out. The role ensures alignment with project scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and statutory requirements.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the focal point for all civil engineering and construction activities, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to align project execution with approved designs, quality standards, schedules, budgets, and statutory requirements.
  • Lead development of the project baseline, including scope breakdown, work sequencing, schedule preparation, cost planning, and resource loading.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to reflect design, procurement, and construction activities in integrated project schedules aligned with project objectives.
  • Conduct regular Planning Review Meetings to track schedule performance, monitor critical paths, assess variances, and incorporate approved changes in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate project schedules, work programs, resource plans, and cost estimates for feasibility, constructability, and compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor project progress using earned value metrics, dashboards, and MIS tools to identify delays, risks, and deviations from the baseline, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support procurement planning by tracking long-lead items, vendor timelines, and material delivery schedules.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to validate reported progress, assess productivity, identify bottlenecks, and synchronize site execution with approved schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain baseline schedules, look-ahead programs, progress reports, S-curves, recovery schedules, and risk registers.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4-6 years of experience in project management for large-scale, Commercial projects within a PMC, developer, or consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, contract administration, construction methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools (MSP/Primavera), and MIS/reporting systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive teams toward timely and quality project delivery.
