Overview
Project Engineer (Primary) focused on primary electrical substation engineering and BIM-authoring/modeling to deliver project and tender outputs.
What you'll do
- Act as engineering authority for low to medium complexity projects/tenders.
- Prepare substation layouts and section drawings, grounding system drawings, and lightning system design.
- Handle cable routings, bills of materials, RFQs, vendor offer vetting, and engineering hour estimation.
- Coordinate with engineering leads, tendering, project managers, SCM, secondary and civil/steel design functions, consultants, and end customers.
- Author BIM models in line with BEP and Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP), including LOD/LOI for tender to as-built stages.
- Run self-checks and manage CDE publishing/workflow, including version control and updates.
- Support BIM coordinator for federation, clash detection, and issue resolution; resolve clashes within timelines.
What you'll need
- 6-10 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Detailed design experience of at least two projects of each AIS & GIS substation from 66kV and above.
- Tool experience in Cymgrid, Cymcab, DIALux, ETAP, and CDEGS for calculation and report review.
- Revit (ACC) and AutoCAD competency for reviewing documents.
- Ability to perform substation design calculations (SCF, SAG, earthing, DSLP, lighting, conductor/cable and transformer sizing).
- Knowledge of safety aspects in engineering and its applications.
