Overview
Purchase Engineer for the High Voltage Business Unit in Maneja, Vadodara, India. The role supports production processes, procurement, logistics, material planning and shop-floor activities to meet end customer demand.
What you'll do
- Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of production processes to meet end customer demand.
- Handle import and local procurement processes independently.
- Perform basic material planning based on continuous production planning.
- Manage purchase and logistics activities for various industrial commodities.
- Maintain proper records.
- Support LLH activities on the shop floor, including 5 S, Tier meetings and problem solving.
- Carry out safety activities such as ABRA preparation, hazard closure, LSR awareness and safety audit preparation.
- Manage inventory.
- Follow up on and expedite materials.
- Take responsibility for personal actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
What you'll need
- Experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
- Core experience in purchase and logistics management of various commodities used in industry.
- Knowledge of GST, VAT, customs clearance and other taxation is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commodities in the area of specialization.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of import and export material handling.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM / PP Module.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
Nice to have
- Good analytical skills with proven experience in cost-cutting / cost-saving activities are desirable.
- Familiarity with ERP and SAP environment.
- Basic experience with tools such as lean manufacturing and KANBAN.
