Python Developer – Vice President

Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role leads application systems analysis and programming activities, with a focus on Python and Spark development and high-scaled, performant software platforms for data computation and processing.

What you'll do

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.
• Identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
• Resolve high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation using advanced knowledge of system flow.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how business areas, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
• Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhere to policy; apply sound ethical judgment; and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of relevant experience in an Apps Development or systems analysis role.
• 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in an Apps Development or systems analysis role.
• 9+ years of experience as a senior core Python-Spark developer with software building and platform engineering.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming software applications.
• Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Expert-level knowledge of Big-Data technologies, Spark implementations, Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scipy, and OOPs concepts and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Spark, Hive, Performance Tunning, Trino, and Pinot Cluster.
• Extensive development expertise building high-scaled and performant software platforms for data computation and processing.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases, and operating systems.
• Experience with Unix-based operating systems.
• Strong analytical and logical skills.
• Hands-on experience writing SQL queries.
• Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working with the banking domain, such as pricing and risk.
• Master’s degree.
