QA Automation Engineer – Java, Selenium, BDD, Cucumber – 7-10 Years

Overview

Quality Assurance Automation Engineer role on the Third Party Connections team, focused on designing test strategies and building and maintaining Selenium-based test automation within agile delivery.

What you'll do

• Design and plan test strategies for projects and applications.
• Undertake planning activities for agile deliveries.
• Work alongside the Automation Test Lead to progress automation backlog items.
• Create automated tests using Selenium to enhance the existing test suite.
• Support and maintain the test automation framework for new features, existing features and bug fixes.
• Analyse requirements and user stories to derive automated test cases.
• Execute tests thoroughly, run automated tests and identify defects.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and recommend quality improvements.
• Work with project teams to resolve issues in a timely manner and keep stakeholders informed of progress and challenges.

What you'll need

• Previous experience working as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer.
• Experience within an agile development environment.
• Experience of test automation using Selenium WebDriver.
• Ability to refactor code to reduce complexity.
• Knowledge of software testing procedures, with skills in test planning, test estimation, prioritisation and risk-based testing.
• Practical experience of agile testing methodologies such as BDD, TDD etc.
• Ability to make decisions, often with limited information, and communicate these to others within the team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Unix and SQL skills.
