QA Automation Engineer – Java, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, REST API & React Testing

Overview

QA Automation Engineer responsible for automated, integration and end-to-end testing of React frontend applications and Java backend services. The role develops test solutions, identifies defects and supports reliable software releases.

What you'll do

• Design, maintain and execute automated tests across frontend, backend, API and database layers.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber BDD and TypeScript.
• Test REST APIs with RestAssured and Postman, including responses, business rules and error handling.
• Debug failed automation scripts and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects.
• Validate application data using SQL queries.
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins pipelines and manage test development with Git.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and communicate testing risks, defects and quality outcomes.

What you'll need

• 5–8 years of experience in automation testing, with at least 5 years of relevant QA or test automation experience.
• Hands-on Java and Selenium experience for automation development.
• Experience testing React frontend applications and Java backend applications.
• Experience with Playwright and Cucumber BDD.
• Hands-on REST API testing with RestAssured and Postman.
• Experience with SQL databases, Git and Jenkins.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating UI, API, backend and database testing.
• Experience with parallel execution, cross-browser testing and automated test reporting.
• Professional certification in software testing, test automation or Agile.
