QA & Testing Lead Engineer, AVP

Overview

Senior QA and testing lead engineer supporting the Lending Service Layer (LSL) for the lending department within Private Bank Germany, covering test planning, execution and automation for mortgage and consumer loan services.

What you'll do

• Participate in developing a holistic test approach for the application and all subcomponents.
• Build functional and regression tests in Quality Center/ALM.
• Carry out test execution and test reporting.
• Work on test automation to build a regression automation test suite from manual tests and update it for every release.
• Version control test artifacts using Bitbucket, GitHub, Perforce, SVN or other version control tools.
• Schedule automation scripts based on release cycles.
• Review daily smoke test reports and regression test reports.
• Analyze test failures and raise issues/defects to the respective development teams.
• Update and fix test scripts as functionality changes.
• Achieve good test coverage.
• Maintain testing standards, ensure they are adhered to, and proactively add standards where possible.
• Take pride in the quality of software delivered for each iteration and release.
• Communicate effectively with development team members, project members, managers and end users.
• Participate in team discussions and communicate project-wide issues to the necessary level.
• Take part in a culture of knowledge sharing with the development team.
• Be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism and excellence.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of functional testing experience.
• Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience as QA Engineer within the IT support industry.
• Good understanding and knowledge of automation testing methodologies.
• Good knowledge of HP ALM and JIRA.
• Good knowledge of the testing life cycle.
• Knowledge in test data maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and RDBMS databases.
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and basic Unix shell scripting.
• Good knowledge of software test best practices and industry standard tools.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
• Quick learner, able to prioritize and organize, results driven, able to deliver accurate solutions to tight timescales.
• Conscientious, versatile, able to multi-task, and a team player able to work within a large professional team.
• Professional, expecting to work the hours the job demands.
• Good communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• ISEB Software Testing Certification (Foundation/Intermediate/Practitioner).
• Automated testing skills, e.g. Selenium, HP UFT.
• Knowledge of unit testing and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of scripting (VBScript, JavaScript, Shell, Perl etc.).
• Working experience in automation and toolsets.
• Experience in the financial industry.
