Quality Assurance Engineer II

Overview

Amtech is hiring a QA Engineer II to independently own quality for assigned user stories and small product features from requirements review through release validation.

What you'll do

• Own testing activities across the software development lifecycle for assigned user stories and small features.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness, testability, dependencies, and quality risks.
• Design and execute risk-based tests across functional, regression, integration, exploratory, negative, boundary, usability, and compatibility scenarios.
• Develop, maintain, debug, and execute Playwright automated tests using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Perform UI, API, database, and end-to-end testing for assigned functionality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and investigate failed automated test runs.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support test design, test-data generation, automation development, defect analysis, and test-summary reporting.

What you'll need

• Typically 1–3 years of software quality assurance/quality engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (or a comparable web automation framework).
• Working proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, databases, and integrated systems.
• Familiarity with SQL and database validation.
• Practical experience with Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Experience with Jira or comparable test/defect-management platforms.
