Quality Engineer - Surface Mount Technology

Overview

Quality Engineer focused on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) quality and manufacturing inspection/test activities in an electronics/electronics product context.

What you'll do

• Integrate quality requirements, processes, and practices into manufacturing.
• Support NPI (new product introduction/implementation) at the factory.
• Craft test strategies, build test setups, and automate test frameworks and test plans.
• Analyze quality reports, test data, and process results to identify trends and issues.
• Implement specified product/process changes to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve moderate-scope problems following company policies.
• Provide feedback and propose changes to minimize risk of failures and drive continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• Typically 5-10 years of experience (and 5 years in PC/3C products related industry).
• Experience with SMT/PCA manufacturing and related processes/tools (SPP/SPI, P&P, AOI, ICT, SA, FBT).
• Knowledge of process/product quality and IQC/IPQC/OQC and line/process audits (including ISO, ESD).
• Strong quality tools experience (RC/CAPA, 8D, Lean 6S, Kaizen).
• Engineering degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or equivalent.
• Ability to do first-level issue triage on manufacturing technical and quality issues.
• Good understanding of PC technology/architecture and HW/SW (and data/programming knowledge is an advantage).

Details

• Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
• Based at CM partner factory about 20 km from Sriperumbudur; candidate must commute daily and be local to Chennai area.
• Work schedule includes Mon-Fri/Sat business hours, with ability to support during weekends and out of business hours.
