Overview
Reliability Engineer role within Cisco’s Quality organization, accountable for reliability execution across multiple product families from design through end-of-life.
What you'll do
- Lead project-level reliability reviews and provide technical counsel on risk mitigation and deliverable status.
- Conduct upfront reliability assessment, including materials and manufacturing reliability and field gap analysis.
- Execute milestone-based reliability plans through design and development while tracking progress.
- Drive cross-functional FMEA and derating analysis with schematic modeling for design validation.
- Lead RDT planning and failure analysis through product validation to resolve root causes before launch.
- Manage early/ongoing field reliability monitoring, failure trending, and RAS reporting for sustaining issues.
What you'll need
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree plus 8–10 years of experience OR a Master’s degree plus 6–8 years of experience.
- Strong command of hardware reliability and system architecture.
- Experience managing reliability initiatives.
- Expertise in data center infrastructure, network architecture, and PCBA-level failure mechanisms.
- Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for engineering and program management.
- Experience leading technical projects and collaborating cross-functionally to drive milestones.
- Ability to identify technical challenges and implement solutions optimizing for RAS.
Nice to have
- Black Belt certification/CRE/CQE is preferred.
