Overview
Lead operational systems for Anthropic’s Life Sciences (biology) team so scientists can focus on experimental work.
What you'll do
- Own day-to-day lab operations end to end, including ordering, inventory, scheduling, upkeep, consumables, shipping/receiving, and space organization.
- Build and extend operational workflows for procurement, inventory/sample tracking, equipment maintenance and calibration schedules, onboarding/training, and SOPs.
- Manage facilities and space by coordinating buildouts, moves, and equipment installs and serving as the primary interface to building management and contractors.
- Own the operating budget by tracking spend vs plan, running capital equipment purchasing, and partnering with Finance on forecasting/reporting.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including sourcing/qualifying vendors, negotiating quotes and service contracts, and scheduling preventive maintenance/field-service visits.
What you'll need
- Have managed day-to-day operations of a life sciences lab across equipment, inventory, ordering, safety, space, and scheduling.
- Have hands-on procurement and vendor management experience, including negotiating quotes and coordinating maintenance technicians.
- Have tracked and managed an operating budget, including purchase orders, invoices, spend-vs-plan, and capital requests.
- Have hands-on life-sciences procurement capabilities and logistics knowledge for lab operations and scheduling.
Details
- Work mode: location-based hybrid policy expecting staff in an office at least 25% of the time.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
