Risk Operations Specialist

Overview

As a Risk Operations Specialist, you will support the day-to-day operation of Merge’s financial crime and risk framework across fiat and stablecoin transactions.

What you'll do

• Conduct KYC/KYB reviews during customer onboarding for individuals and businesses.
• Perform CDD/EDD for higher-risk customers and counterparties.
• Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts across fiat and stablecoin rails.
• Assess payment exceptions, rejected transactions, and beneficiary-related risk events.
• Run sanctions and PEP screening and investigate potential matches.
• Review blockchain transactions and wallet activity using analytics/KYT tools where relevant.

What you'll need

• Experience in compliance, AML, financial crime, risk operations, KYC/KYB, or transaction monitoring.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution or fintech/digital asset business.
• Practical experience in KYC/KYB, CDD/EDD, and transaction monitoring.
• Understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening.
• Ability to investigate transaction monitoring alerts and make risk-based decisions.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent documentation/case-management.
