Overview
Safety Officer for JLL’s Projects and Development Services team, supporting active construction and fitout sites across the Gujarat region. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring safety protocols and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and JLL safety standards.
What you'll do
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across multiple project sites in Gujarat.
- Monitor contractor and vendor adherence to approved safety plans and method statements.
- Identify hazards and recommend immediate corrective actions.
- Assist in developing site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
- Run safety inductions and toolbox talks, including PPE and safety equipment training.
- Respond to safety incidents and carry out incident investigations and reporting.
- Prepare statutory permits/documentation and weekly/monthly safety reports with KPIs.
What you'll need
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Safety Officer in construction/civil projects or corporate interior fitout projects.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in Industrial Safety from recognized institutions (NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, ADIS, or equivalent).
- Thorough understanding of Indian safety regulations including Factories Act and BO CW Act, plus relevant IS codes.
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements for construction activities.
- Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
Details
- Reports to: Safety Lead – Gujarat, Projects and Development Services.
- Location: On-site – Ahmedabad, GJ; based in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar with regular travel across Gujarat project sites.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 48.
- Work involves extensive fieldwork with regular site visits and occasional weekends as required.
