Sales Engineer, Mid Market - Public Sector

Overview

Sales Engineer role supporting Samsara’s Public Sector customer base with IoT solutions.

What you’ll do

• Engage customers on how IoT can impact logistics management, safety programs, fleet maintenance, asset management, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop expertise in IoT hardware/sensors, including hands-on installation strategies.
• Manage data collection over carrier networks and present cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Build third-party system integrations using Samsara’s open API.
• Deliver sales enablement work products such as discoveries, demos, value assessments, and proof of concept implementations.
• Help installers with deployment plans and best practices for installing Samsara products.
• Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.

What you’ll need

• BS degree from a 4-year accredited university.
• 2+ years experience in pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support.
• Ability to influence stakeholders using technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
• Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience concepts including technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation/control systems.

• Remote position for candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.
• All candidates must be US citizens.
