Sales Engineer, Ambient AI

Overview

Sales Engineer for Commure Ambient (Ambient AI) supporting healthcare practices. You manage Ambient pilot scopes and integrations through signed contracts, partnering with AEs and technical teams.

What you'll do

• Scope pilots by leading the technical scoping call and capturing EHRs and workflows.
• Build EHR integrations using browser automation, DOM injection, and API paths.
• Configure and bring advanced AI features into pilots (e.g., ICD coding, orders, Patient 360, carry forward, pre-visit summaries).
• Translate requirements into template requests and triage template updates within a 24-hour SLA.
• Keep pilots healthy by triaging in-pilot requests, maintaining a thread of record in Slack, and updating pilot status/usage in Salesforce.
• Field technical questions from AEs and own technical sections of RFPs and security questionnaires.
• Hand off customers to implementation with documented integrations, templates, provider list, and known issues.

What you'll need

• 3–7 years of sales engineering, solutions engineering, implementation, or healthcare IT experience.
• Hands-on experience with at least one ambulatory EHR (athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, NextGen, ModMed, Practice Fusion, WebPT).
• Ability to read and debug integrations including browser automation, DOM, REST APIs, JSON schemas, and HL7/FHIR.
• Ability to explain how ambient AI builds notes, where it can miss, and what to do in plain language.
• Strong organization for juggling multiple pilots, using Slack as the thread of record, and keeping Salesforce current.
• Healthcare fluency including HIPAA and security questionnaires such as SOC 2 and HITRUST.
