Overview
As a Salesforce Technical Architect, design and manage delivery of complex Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, MuleSoft, Heroku, APIs, Apex/Visualforce, Lightning, mobile development technologies, and integration technologies. Design scalable, long-term systems and provide technical, enterprise, platform, governance, delivery, financial, and people leadership.
What you'll do
- Own solution architecture across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, MuleSoft integrations, and Heroku applications.
- Produce high-level and detailed designs (HLD/LLD) aligned to enterprise standards.
- Provide thought leadership on platform architecture, operating model, and best practices to scale capabilities and reduce time-to-value.
- Champion AI and automation, including intelligent routing, agent assist, next-best-action, and workflow automation, to improve customer and agent experience and reduce cost-to-serve.
- Establish governance for data quality, privacy, security, and compliance, including standards for releases, integrations, and reusable components.
- Drive adoption and benefits realization through change management, enablement, KPI dashboards, and continuous optimization of user journeys and processes.
- Build, coach, and retain high-performing teams and partners.
- Own portfolio financial management, including estimates and budgeting, forecasting, accruals versus actuals, and vendor commercial governance.
- Work with Salesforce contacts to ensure support and resolution of technical challenges.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, Value stream teams, and business process teams.
- Groom and mentor teams.
- Lead key programs and BAU delivery for Global Commercial across eCommerce, Marketing, Content Management, and Web.
- Manage vendor commercial operations, including estimates, SOWs, POs, and contract controls.
- Directly manage a core team of 4–6 team members and provide matrix/indirect leadership for delivery squads totaling approximately 30 FTEs plus 30+ contractors.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years in CRM/platform engineering, including 3+ years in an architecture/technical lead capacity.
- Demonstrated architecture and delivery experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud in large organizations with enterprise complexity.
- Demonstrated architecture and delivery experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API design, flows, policies, and runtime deployment.
- Demonstrated architecture and delivery experience with Heroku, including app architecture, scaling, data services, and security.
- Experience leading implementations that include identity/security controls, data governance, and integrations with enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including the multi-tenant model, governor limits, and platform capabilities.
- Data modeling and configuration best practices, including record types, sharing model, permission sets, profiles, and role hierarchy.
- Automation design and performance knowledge, including Flows, approval processes, and when to use Apex.
- Apex architecture and patterns, including bulkification, asynchronous processing, error handling, and testing strategy.
- UI architecture across Lightning, including LWC, Aura as needed, Lightning Design System, and UX performance considerations.
- Familiarity with platform authentication patterns, including SAML, SSO, and OAuth.
- API-led connectivity knowledge across Experience, API, and Process layers, including RAML/OAS design and versioning.
- Knowledge of security patterns, including OAuth, JWT, mTLS as required, client credentials, connected apps, and certificate management.
- Knowledge of error handling and resiliency, including retries, DLQs, idempotency, circuit breakers, and back-pressure strategies.
- Knowledge of monitoring and operations, including logging, correlation IDs, dashboards, alerting, and runbooks.
- Application design knowledge on Heroku, including dyno sizing, scaling, and stateless patterns.
- Knowledge of data services, including Postgres, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of secure configuration and secrets management, including config vars and key rotation practices.
- Knowledge of integration between Heroku apps and Salesforce, including Heroku Connect or APIs where applicable.
- SFDX-based CI/CD and environment strategy knowledge, including branching, packaging, and scratch orgs/sandboxes.
- Knowledge of code quality and security scanning approaches and dependency management.
- Agile delivery experience, including story estimation, technical spikes, and sprint ceremonies.
Nice to have
- Multi-org strategy, domain separation, and large-scale data strategy, including LDV patterns.
- Event-driven architecture, including Platform Events, CDC, and pub-sub patterns.
- Experience in regulated environments and validated delivery practices.
Details
- Location: Hyderabad.
- Full-time position.
- Availability is required between 1pm IST and 10pm IST, with a minimum of 3 hours of overlap with the US ET time zone.
- People leadership includes direct management of 4–6 team members and matrix/indirect leadership for approximately 30 FTEs plus 30+ contractors.
- Portfolio financial management includes an estimated ~$1M delivery/resource budget plus an additional budget for software licensing.
