Scent Design Manager

Overview

Scent Design Manager at IFF, based in Mumbai, responsible for developing and executing category innovation and scent/fragrance strategies.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute category innovation strategies using consumer, customer, and market insights.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities based on market trends and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Consumer Insights, R&D, and cross-functional teams to create innovation briefs.
• Lead projects from concept through commercialization to support speed to market.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to align fragrance/category strategy with business goals.
• Monitor project performance, address technical challenges, and adapt strategies to achieve outcomes.
• Build regional and global visibility for category initiatives and promote knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in an international environment.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Fragrance, Marketing, Business, or a relevant discipline.
• Excellent olfactive communication skills (e.g., discriminate, describe by association, odor memory).
• Ability to identify potential fragrances based on market relevance.
• Ability to provide creative direction and olfactive guidance to perfumers.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and influencing skills across organizational levels.
• English fluency; other language proficiency is a plus.
